Sharon Arul Dhas originated from Kluang, Johor, is the eldest among her two siblings. Unfortunately, her father, Arul Dhas A/L Palaniandy, passed away four years ago and her mother, Regina Santhi A/P Ramasamy, previously employed at Courts Mammoth, faced job loss during the challenging period of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite these hurdles, Sharon achieved an outstanding CGPA in her Bachelor of Education and eagerly looks forward to her future role as a public school teacher. With an enduring thirst for knowledge, Sharon aspires to pursue a master's degree and ultimately aims to become an educator. Her aspiration to educate in public schools embodies her commitment to fostering the next generation of leaders. Her journey mirrors a dedication to personal development and empowering future minds.
Receiving the Vice-Chancellor’s award is an incredible honor for me. Through vibrant engagement in co-curriculars, I joined UNIRAZAK Indian Club (UIC) and the badminton club, with my leadership role as the president of UIC showcased my participation. Inside the classroom, my eagerness to participate led me to volunteer answers and collaborate effectively within diverse groups. Building strong relationships, I fostered connections with peers and lecturers. These relationships have been instrumental in shaping my educational journey.
“Education serves as the guiding compass,
leading us on a journey of personal growth
and empowerment, turning aspirations into
achievements.”
The pandemic disrupted five semesters of traditional classroom, yet it also spotlighted UNIRAZAK's lecturers' exceptional skills in delivering captivating online lessons. Despite the challenges of working on group assignments digitally, having dedicated team members, we transformed challenges into triumphs, learning the value of collaboration and adaptability in this new educational setting.
At UNIRAZAK, the most cherished aspects for me encompass the invaluable connections forged with friends, the enriching guidance from lecturers, and the convenient campus proximity to the LRT station. These elements significantly contribute to my educational experience.
Dr. Farhah Aziz is an incredibly caring, approachable, and supportive lecturer whom I deeply respect. Her guidance instils confidence and allows me to enhance my communication skills. Although I did not have the opportunity to meet Dr. Nagalingam in person, his teaching techniques in mathematics were exceptional, and I really wish I could have met this admirable lecturer face-to-face during my time at UNIRAZAK.
Moreover, our counsellor, Encik Syafiq, is incredibly friendly and easy to approach. His classes are not to be missed; they are engaging and enriching, making him one of the most remarkable educators I have ever encountered.
Earning the Vice Chancellor's award at UNIRAZAK crowns my three-year academic journey and is such a satisfying culmination of my dedication and efforts. My self-motivation drives my dreams, and it plays a vital role in my life's journey. To quote from a singer that I adored, Dolly Parton, "You can't have a rainbow without a little rain," – embodies my perseverance through tough times. Despite the setbacks, I have persisted, fuelled by this belief.
