Best Student Award School of Education and Humanities (SEH)

Aliah Afiqah Binti Azhar

Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Education) (Honours)

At UNIRAZAK, we proudly celebrate Aliah Afiqah Azhar, a graduate of the Bachelor of Education (Honours) in Early Childhood Education from the School of Education & Humanities — a Razakian whose journey is defined by passion, courage, and heart-led leadership.

Now serving as a classroom teacher for children aged 3–4 at Q-dees Bandar Country Homes, Aliah brings learning to life through play, creativity, and meaningful exploration. Her story reflects the spirit of an educator who chose to fully embrace the student experience, step beyond her comfort zone, and shape not only her own future, but the lives of young learners entrusted to her care.

How does it feel to receive this award, and what kept you going through your journey at UNIRAZAK?

Receiving the Best Student Award is truly an honour, especially knowing that I was surrounded by many capable and inspiring peers. What kept me going was my deep passion for Early Childhood Education and my belief that every child deserves a great teacher who can shape them holistically.

The more I learned, the more eager I became to understand this field better and push myself to grow — not just academically, but personally. That passion gave meaning to every effort I made throughout my journey at UNIRAZAK.

“When you step out of your comfort zone with
courage and heart, growth follows
— and so do the moments that
shape who you become.”

What challenges did you face, and how did you manage to “Break Through”?

One of my biggest challenges was taking on the responsibility of being the President of Razak Rangers while completing my final year project. Managing volunteering work, social initiatives, interviews, events, and academic commitments at the same time was demanding. However, I was fortunate to be surrounded by an incredible support system — my partner, friends, and lecturers — who gave me encouragement, understanding, and strength.

Their support helped me carry these responsibilities with confidence and reminded me that I didn’t have to face challenges alone. To me, “Breaking Through” means having the courage to step out of my comfort zone. By doing so, I gained new skills, met inspiring people, and achieved milestones I never imagined possible.

What memories or lessons will you carry forward, and what advice would you give to future Razakians?

One of the most meaningful lessons I carry forward is choosing to be a real student — fully present, involved, and engaged in every aspect of university life. Even though I started my degree later than others, I committed myself to classes, activities, clubs, sports, study groups, and friendships. From running to catch the bus for class, late-night revisions at the hostel, shared meals with friends, to celebrating after exams — these moments shaped my UNIRAZAK journey.

I’m deeply grateful to my lecturers for their patience, dedication, and guidance, and to my partner, Khairuddin Razak, whose unwavering support and sacrifices made this journey possible. To future Razakians — don’t be afraid of new environments or challenges. Step out, get involved, and enjoy the process. Whether success or failure, every experience is a lesson. Embrace the journey, have fun, and allow yourself to grow.
