At UNIRAZAK, we are proud to honour Visalan Sivanesan, a graduate of the Bachelor of Management (Honours) in Entrepreneurship under the Bank Rakyat School of Business, Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship (BRSBITE) — a student whose perseverance speaks volumes even in silence. Calm, thoughtful, and self-driven, Visalan is the kind of Razakian who proves that determination doesn’t always need the spotlight to shine.

Now serving as a Corporate Banking Officer in the Japanese Corporate Banking Division at MUFG Bank, Visalan manages high-value corporate portfolios with precision and professionalism. His journey from a quiet learner to a confident achiever reflects UNIRAZAK’s belief that true breakthroughs are built not in noise, but in persistence, balance, and belief.

Receiving the Best Student Award feels deeply personal to me. I’ve never been someone who seeks the spotlight, so this recognition means more than words can express. It’s a reminder that every small effort and every quiet step I took along the way truly mattered.

My motivation came from three places — who I was, who I am, and who I want to become. My past reminds me of how far I’ve come, my present keeps me accountable, and my future drives me to aim higher. At the heart of it all is my goal to build a better life for my family and make my parents proud.

My challenges came all at once — balancing studies, financial responsibilities, and personal struggles. There were moments when everything felt overwhelming, but I learned to find strength in solitude and resilience in small victories. Not every day was perfect — some days were productive, while others were just about getting through — but both were part of progress.

“Breaking Through,” to me, isn’t about one big moment of success. It’s the accumulation of quiet persistence, the decision to keep going when no one’s watching, and the strength to believe that even small steps still move you forward.

My time at UNIRAZAK was short, but it left a lasting impact. The supportive environment, understanding lecturers, and flexible learning culture suited who I am — an introvert who values calm and focus. I’m deeply grateful to lecturers such as Sir Rashid, Sir Fikri, Mdm Farahana, Mdm Norseha, Ms Khayma, Mdm Rosleen, Mdm Latifah, and many others who guided me throughout my journey.

Each of them played a meaningful role in shaping not just my academic understanding but also my confidence and mindset. They taught me that education is not only about grades or outcomes, but about growth, character, and becoming a better version of yourself.

To future Razakians — don’t rush your breakthrough. It doesn’t have to be loud or dramatic. Focus on progress, even when it feels slow. Don’t compare your journey to others; everyone moves at their own pace. Be patient, trust yourself, and believe that every step counts. One day, you’ll look back and realise that your quiet persistence was your greatest strength.
