I’m truly honoured and grateful to receive the Vice-Chancellor Award. To be honest, I never aimed for awards during my studies — my priority was always to learn, understand, and build knowledge I could carry into the future. I’ve always believed that exam results are temporary, but real understanding lasts much longer and becomes the foundation for our careers.
So, this recognition means a lot to me. It feels like a meaningful milestone in my academic journey, but also a reminder that the real work begins now — applying what I’ve learned and contributing sincerely to the organisation I serve.

“I learned that real success isn’t
just about grades — it’s about the knowledge you keep,
the character you build, and the trust you place in Allah.”
My biggest challenge at UNIRAZAK was adapting to subjects I had no background in. Coming from a science stream, economics was new but enjoyable, but accounting was definitely tougher. The unfamiliar terms and structured formats pushed me to work harder, ask questions, seek help from friends, and practice consistently. Alhamdulillah, that effort paid off, and I managed to ace Principles of Accounting.
Staying focused came down to managing my time well. I prioritised tasks by urgency and difficulty, and reminded myself that being active means sacrificing some leisure time — never the time set aside for studying. That simple mindset kept me steady and helped me break through every challenge.
I’m most grateful for the people I met at UNIRAZAK — my friends and lecturers who have supported me throughout my journey. Their guidance, perspectives, and advice continue to help me grow, especially as I step into my career. I’m also deeply thankful for the knowledge and experiences I’ve gained. Coming from a science stream into the world of economics was a big shift, but it broadened my way of thinking and taught me to appreciate both analytical and theoretical approaches.
I don’t credit just one person, because everyone played a role in shaping my journey. Each lecturer contributed in their own way — some sparked my interest in new concepts, while others shared real industry insights that prepared me for the workplace. My friends, especially my teammates, also made a huge impact. Strong teamwork carried me through countless group assignments, and I truly believe their support is one of the reasons I’m able to receive this award today.
I’m passionate about building my career in the healthcare sector, particularly on the management and corporate side. Over the next few years, my goal is to gain broad exposure across different departments so I can understand the industry from multiple angles and make better, more holistic decisions when I eventually step into a management role. I hope this achievement will open doors to new opportunities and give future employers confidence in my commitment, work ethic, and dedication to delivering meaningful results.
To me, Breaking Through is about proving to myself that I can grow past the limits I once thought I had. University was the stage where everything shifted — suddenly, no one was telling me what to do, and every choice came from me. That freedom was exciting, but it also made me realise that the biggest challenge wasn’t the subjects or the deadlines… it was managing myself.
I had to decide the kind of student I wanted to be, stay disciplined, and take responsibility for every step I made. So breaking through, for me, is about learning to trust myself, pushing through discomfort, and becoming a better version of who I was when I first walked into UNIRAZAK.
My advice is to start with a clear vision — know what you’re working toward, and let that guide your motivation. But remember tawakkal: we give our best, and Allah decides the outcome. Sometimes what we want isn’t what’s truly good for us, so keep working hard, keep making doa, and trust the process.
Also, know yourself. Find the study methods that work for you, be proactive, and don’t be afraid to ask questions. Listening gives you input, but practising and explaining things to others is what helps the knowledge stay.
And finally, don’t focus on academics alone. Your attitude, soft skills, and character will matter just as much in the working world. Stay grounded, stay humble, and keep strengthening your spirituality — because real success comes from being strong in knowledge, character, and faith.
