Born on 6th of May 1997 in Seberang Jaya, Pulau Pinang, Syakirah or known as Syak among her friends is the eldest of her three siblings. In 2002, she and her family moved to Kota Bharu and have been living there since. During her school years, Syakirah passed her SPM with flying colours (10As). She has always found Banking and Finance intriguing as it engages with the world of current affair. She was offered by MARA to pursue Bachelor of Business Administration (Islamic Financial Planning) in UNIRAZAK. With her mother’s background as an educator, she has always been serious in her studies – maintaining a final CGPA of 3.87 for degree and 3.94 for foundation.

Apart from that, she was also selected to represent UNIRAZAK for the 4th National Financial Planning Tournament in 2018 and PNB Investment Quiz in 2017. Besides, Syakirah believes that extra co-curricular is important to sharpen her social and leadership skills, in which she joins BRSBE Student Society. Being the Head of Media 2017/2018 and Head of Activity Team 2018/2019, she actively organised and participated in various events. She initiated to organise Practitioner Talk 1.0 which has now been a tradition program to the club.

Prior to the event, she managed to invite Dato’ Dr Azmi Omar, President CEO INCEIF to speak about the topic of FINTECH (Financial Technology) which attracts students from other universities in finance background as well as professional audiences from BNM and INCEIF. However, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

Syakirah has never been a sporty girl yet in UNIRAZAK, she found her passion in rugby and was appointed as the secretary of UNIRAZAK Rebels Rugby Club. Being one of the women players in touch rugby team, their first win as champion was in The Ultimate Touch tournament in Open University Mix category organised by IUMW and FIT Touch Malaysia.

The win has made a name for UNIRAZAK in rugby sports among other universities. For Syakirah, the memories of her university life in UNIRAZAK will never be forgotten. This life phase has its ups and downs which has matured her as a person and enabled her to push herself to a greater heights.

She feels a heartfelt gratitude towards MARA, UNIRAZAK’s management and staff, deans, lecturers, friends, family members and everyone who had been with her throughout this amazing and memorable journey in UNIRAZAK. Syakirah is now a Management Trainee in Public Bank and we wish her continued success in future.
